Parklands Park is a 1.5 hectare active recreation space that sits in the heart of the Westhills development.
Lakewood completed the necessary bulk excavation, detailed grading and underground servicing for final landscaping treatment to be applied. Works also involved the construction of a storm water detention facility that serves as a landscape feature within the park.
Separate and elaborate play structures were installed by a specialist playground manufacturer, with these being extremely well utilised by the residents of Langford.
In keeping with the Westhills’ sustainability principles the pedestrian bridge and rotunda (both built by Lakewood) utilised timber that was harvested and milled on site. In addition to this the surfacing of the playground for 2 -5 year olds was made of recycled rubber with a grant being awarded by the Tire Stewardship of BC.
